C. OLD BUSINESS

Review of SMRPC Work and Maps – Ms Saltmarsh explained she’d gone through the entire Acton Zoning Ordinance and made sure any revisions, additions, etc. were appropriately indicated and printed copies for the Committee. She said she also drafted new maps taking into consideration DEP’s input about the Shoreland Zone and the Resource Protection District. She stated the primary input from the DEP regarding the maps were their confusion with some of the coloring and the symbols for the buffer distances, therefore, she has clarified those items. She mentioned in order to make the maps clearer, she put it into different sections so there are now two maps where there previously was one map. She advised the maps are now complete and should not require anything but the insertion of the date of adoption which will more than likely be at the June, 2010 Annual Town Meeting.

Ms Saltmarsh distributed copies of sheets she typed indicating certain areas in the Ordinance that require additional revisions based on the DEP’s comments. She said she would like to go over that work this evening because, after the Committee has given its approval or input regarding that work, she will be able to finalize the document for the public hearing. She reminded the Committee that after the changes have been adopted, a copy has to be sent to the DEP.

At this time, the group reviewed the sheets and gave their input where appropriate.
