TOWN OF ACTON SELECTMEN’S MEETING

JULY 16, 2009

 

SALUTE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG  

1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

3. SIGNING THE WARRANT: Approved and signed.

 

4. OLD BUSINESS: (a) CABLE COMMITTEE UPDATE: Rey reported they have assigned each member a task, with a back up. They would like to have the hot water tank moved so they can have storage for recordings. (Selectmen said they do not have the money at the present time to do so.)  The Cable committee has a policy that purchases over $500 must be endorsed by all members. Under $500, two members may sign. Next meeting will be July 18.  

 

 

5. NEW BUSINESS:

(1) MEET WITH AMBULANCE/FIRE/RESCUE COMMITTEE: The committee elected Larissa Crocket as chairman and Debbi Rix as secretary.  Their next meeting will be Tuesday, July 21 at . They will need to discuss what the problems are and how best to address them.  

(2) INSURANCE COVERAGE: Selectmen met with employees and have selected a new plan.  

(3) ROAD DEPARTMENT PAY RATES: Selectmen met with Road Commissioners and decided that the State Rates will apply to labor as well as equipment.

(4) APPOINTMENT OF ZBA ALTERNATE: Tabled until next week.

(5) GENERATOR BID: All bids came in above the money that was appropriated. They will be re-bidding in 2 weeks.

(6) TOWN HALL REPAIR BID: The Town hall repair bid from Noon Construction for $31,000 was accepted.  

(7) ESTABLISH DATE FOR STAFF MEETING: Selectmen have decided to hold staff meetings every third Friday of the month beginning July 24. The Municipal Offices will be closed from to .        

6.  MEETINGS: MOUSAM LAKE ASSOCIATION   JULY 25
