SELECTMEN’S MEETING

JANUARY 30, 2007

 

 

 

1. PUBLIC FORUM:

 

Chip Venell had furnished the selectmen with proposed legislative changes that will make the county budget committee as advisory to the commissioners and give final decision making to the commissioners. This results in 5 people making a decision formerly made by 15. John Sylvester is holding a meeting on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 1:30 in the Alfred Town Hall to discuss this issue. Chip requested that if selectmen disagree with this proposal that they send letters to the listed legislators.

(A) ASSESSING:

 

No action.Pam presented her articles and commented on each one. After considerable discussion, selectmen said no action will be taken at this time until more research is done.

(A) PAM MCALINDEN -PROPOSED WARRANT ARTICLES:

 

(B) GIRL SCOUT REQUEST TO SELL COOKIES AT THE TRANSFER STATION MARCH 17, from 9 to 4:

 

(C) EXECUTIVE SESSION - PERSONNEL HEARING - EMPLOYMENT STATUS

 

: On a motion by Jim, the board went into executive session. They came out of executive session at 8:33, and on a motion by Jim, voted to accept the findings and conclusions relative to the executive session.
Selectmen said they have no objection.

The entry of the new map and lot numbers on the Britesides program is complete with the exception of a few minor entries. There are still a few search by name problems but these are being corrected when they show up.

Dennis Long reported that the Warrant and Finance Committee are requesting that the selectmen furnish them with a secretary. Lorraine will check with Anna Williams. Also Dennis reported the committee is asking that there be no increases in budget this year. They will be getting their calendar set up soon.
