SELECTMEN’S MEETING

TOWN OF ACTON

February 10, 2011

SALUTE TO THE FLAG:

 

1.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA:  Approved as written.

2.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

3. OLD BUSINESS: None

4. NEW BUSINESS:

 

(1)   STEPHEN DANIELS FROM CENTRAL MAINE POWER: Mr. Daniels distributed informational packets to the Selectmen regarding the process for the installation of the  new, smart meters which will be installed in Acton sometime between now and July. Daniels stated these new meters are much more accurate. He advised that if consumers have any questions they call 1-877-0356 or go to their website, www.cmpco.com/smartmeter. The information packets will be available for the public to peruse in the municipal office and at the Acton Public Library.

 

(2) RESIGNATIONS FROM CABLE COMMITTEE: On a motion by Ted, the resignations of Scott Dunham and Brian Cochrane were accepted. There is a need for two volunteers for that committee.

 

5. OTHER BUSINESS: None.

 

6. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Membership to the Acton Gym has now been opened to all Acton taxpayers. Membership fee is $120 a year for regular members and $60 a year for volunteers and Town employees. Membership is free for fire and rescue personnel. Open House will be held February 17 and 24 from 4pm to 7pm and on Saturday Feb. 26 and March 5 from 9am to 11am.
