1.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA:  Accepted as written  

2.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Accepted as written

3.  OLD BUSINESS: None

 4. NEW BUSINESS:   

a.       Lee Burnett from the York County Forest Works initiative, did a screen projection presentation on the Town’s Forest and noted the Town is fortunate to have it under the care of Steve Bodkin as forester. He suggested the Town put up signs at the ends of the roads where the Town Forests are located. His goal is to keep Maine woods forever available through conservation. He is able to assist landowners find professionals to help them manage their woodlands. He can be contacted at www.forestworksme.org.

b.      Action on Petition: On a motion by Bill it was voted to accept Tom Cashin’s petition and to move it forward. Dates furnished by the Town Clerk are:

September 25 advertise Public Hearing, September 27 sign referendum warrant, October 2 Absentee ballots available, October 11 Public Hearing, November 6 Voting Day.

c.       Sign Loan Document: On a motion by Bill the loan documents were signed for the windows installation.

d.      Excise Exemption policy: On a motion by Bill the new Excise Exemption Policy was signed.

e.       Resignation of Land Use Secretary: The resignation of Linda Capristo effective Oct 1 was read and accepted with regret.

f.       Appointments and appointments needed: On a motion by Bill, Dick Neal was appointed to the Mary Grant Committee and Jean Achilles moved from alternate to member of the ZBA. Still needed 1 alternate member for ZBA, 2 members of the Mary Grant Committee, 1 Road Committee Member, 2 Warrant and Finance Alternate members. 1 Forestry Committee member.

g.       Investment Policy, first reading: Bill gave the first reading of the investment policy.

h.      Insurance Renewal of Aetna plan and Reimbursement for deductible: On a motion by Bill it was voted to renew the current health insurance policy and reimburse the employee deductibles through the HRA.

6. ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Town Clerks Office will be closed August 24

 We now have a new RURAL mail box and address which is 35 H Road.

There will be a Special Selectmen Meeting on August 30 to sign the Tax commitment at .

Ted explained about the Sheriff’s Department grant for a Deputy to be shared with Shapleigh. Public Heating September 13 at .
