 TOWN OF ACTON

SALUTE TO THE FLAG

1.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

2.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

 

3.  OLD BUSINESS: None

4. NEW BUSINESS:

a. Fire Department presentation: Chief Peter Smith reported their need for a new truck and the time and effort the committee has put into the search. They have finally selected a Sparton  ERV from South Dakota. On a motion by Ted, it was voted to purchase the Sparton ERV for a cost of $394,476,000.

b. Abatement Requests:  Carol Lamirande,  PNC  Equipment for personal property, Christine Taylor: On a  motion by Bill, it was voted to deny the Lamirande abatement and grant the PNC and Taylor abatements.

c. Sign Assessor’s Return for County Tax $314,056.61: On a motion by Bill, it was voted to sign the County Tax Return.

d. Sign Contract with Sheriff: On a motion by Bill, the contract with the Sheriff was signed. The contract goes into effect after January 1, 2013.

5. OTHER BUSINESS: None

6. ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Three vacancies on Mary Grant Committee, one Road Committee member, one alternate member of Saco River Corridor Commission, 2 Alternate Warrant and Finance Committee members.

Selectmen will conduct workshops on  Mondays, from to .  Tuesday’s workshop hours are cancelled.

The Town Hall will be closed November 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving.

Ted commended Town Clerk Jennifer Roux for a well run election here in Acton.
