SELECTMEN’S MEETING

 TOWN OF ACTON

1.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA:  Approved as written.

2.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:  Approved as written.

3.  OLD BUSINESS:  None

4. NEW BUSINESS:

a. Abatements -  Janet Farmer, James Webb, Lee Robator: On individual motions by Bill, the abatements were approved.

b. Abatement denial  -  James Web: On a motion by Bill, the  second Webb abatement was denied.

c. Open Audit Proposals: Audit Proposals were opened and the following proposals were read with 3 year options: The proposals will be given to the Treasurer and to the School Department and bids will be awarded next meeting.

Maine Municipal Services, PA: $9,000, $9,000, $9,000

Smith & Associates: $9,300, $9,500, $9,700

RHR Smith: $ 11,500, $11,500, $11,500

RKO: $18,000, $18,000, $18,000

5. OTHER BUSINESS: None

6. ANNOUNCEMENTS: One vacancy on Mary Grant Committee, 1 member and 1 Alternate member of Saco River Corridor Commission, 2 Alternate Warrant and Finance Committee members.

The Town of Acton is soliciting bids for lawn care from May 1, 2013 to November 30, 2013. Mowing grass is to be done at the Acton Town Hall, Acton Public Safety Building, Mary Grant Nature Preserve and the Lincoln School on an as needed basis. Raking, fertilizing (if needed) and spring and fall cleanup at the Town Hall site are included.  Bid should be total price for the season. All bids need to be submitted by April 11, 2013 to Town of Acton, H Road, Acton, Maine 04001. Bids will be opened at at the Selectmen’s Meeting, April 11 2013. Envelope should have “Bid” plainly marked on the outside. For further information call 636-3839 Extension 408 or come into the Selectmen’s Office at the Town Hall.

Meetings with those requesting donations from the Town will be held on Thursday, April 11 and 18 beginning at followed by the Selectmen’s meeting. Budget request meeting with department heads will be on Saturday, April 20 beginning at 9 am.
