SALUTE TO THE FLAG

 

1.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

2.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

3. OLD BUSINESS: None

4. NEW BUSINESS:

a. Mass Gathering Permit: Vacationland Volkswagen Association wishes to hold an All VW Car Show at the Acton Fairgrounds on August 4 from 9am to 3pm. They have contacted the Fire Department and Ambulance Association and will contact Deputy Shaw. They will FAX us a copy of their insurance. A $100 permit fee has been paid. On a motion by Bill, the permit was granted

b. Diane Pettis:  Pettis asked that an exploratory committee be appointed to look into formation of a community center. On a motion by Bill, it was voted to appoint a committee for 6 months, to be called Community Center Investigation Committee. Pettis asked that  Selectmen appoint Mary Waterhouse, Terri Walker-Estes, Elise Miller, Diane Pettis and Hope Baldwin.

c. Mileage Reimbursement Policy: On a motion by Bill, this policy was adopted.

d. Revocation of Prohibition of Sexual Harassment Policy:  On a motion by Bill, this existing policy was revoked because the policy regarding sexual harassment is included in the personnel policy.

e Personnel Policy: On a motion by Bill this policy was adopted.

f. First reading of Computer Use Policy: On a motion by Ed, reading of the policy was waived. The proposed policy will be posted on the Town’s web page.

g. Appointments: Selectmen re-appointed the following persons for a one year term  to the positions, boards or committees that they now hold: Animal Control Officer Frank Shippee; Code Enforcement Officer and Local Plumbing Inspector Kenneth Paul; Deputy CEO Steve McDonough; Health Officer Vickie Erickson; Constable Robert Anderson; Emergency Management Director William Catanesye; E911 Addressing Officer William Catanesye; Representatives to Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission Lorraine Yeaton and Tom Cashin; Fire Chief Peter L Smith; Members of the Mary Grant Nature Preserve Barbara Seckar, Eric Gallagher, Richard Neal, Carl Davis. Appointed to  3 year terms as Alternate members of the Planning Board are Gavin Maloney and Robert Smith. Jennifer Roux  was appointed Registrar of Voters until December 31, 2014.

5. OTHER BUSINESS: None

6. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Volunteers needed for 1 member and 1 Alternate member of Saco River Corridor Commission,

7. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm.
