TOWN OF ACTON

SALUTE TO THE FLAG

1.         APPROVAL OF AGENDA:  Approved as written.

2.         APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:  Approved as written.

3.         OLD BUSINESS: None

PUBLIC HEARING ON ARTICLE FOR FIRETRUCK REPAIR: Ted Kryzak, Fire Chief Peter Smith and Warrant and Finance Chairman Paul Poyant spoke about the need for repair and supported the Article. There were no questions from the audience.

 

4.         NEW BUSINESS:

a.         Sign Warrant For Special Town Meeting: On a motion by Bill the Warrant was signed.

b.         Decision on Poverty Abatement Request: On a motion by Bill it was voted to deny the abatement.

c.         Update on Water Pipe Break:  On Tuesday, Sept 10^th staff came in and found approximately 4 – 5 inches of water flooding the entire down stairs. ServPro was called immediately to come and start extracting the water and begin drying the floors/walls. MMA was notified and a claim was filed.  An adjuster came out on Wed Sept 11^th, viewed the damage and authorized the repairs to begin. ServPro arranged for a 45ft trailer to be delivered and this morning a moving company, came in and boxed up the downstairs and moved everything to the trailer. Sanford Flooring removed all of the old carpets this afternoon  At this point, the bare floors and walls are still drying.  The CEO office has been temporarily moved upstairs. Friday the adjuster will revisit the Town Hall to determine and authorize wood/drywall/trim damage.  At that point a decision will be made as to how we move forward.

d.         Warrant and Finance Resignation:  The resignation of Dennis Long was read and on a motion by Bill, accepted with regret.

Special Town Meeting Thursday, September 26^h, 2013.

Selectmen’s Meeting time changed to 6 pm on the 26^th, 2013.

Town Hall will be closed on Wednesday, October 2^nd, 2013 (Personal)

Town Hall will be closed on Wednesday, October 16^th, 2013 (Training)
