SPECIAL SELECTMEN’S MEETING

TOWN OF ACTON

SALUTE TO THE FLAG

 

1.         APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

2.         APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

3.         OLD BUSINESS:  None

4.         NEW BUSINESS:

a. Award well drilling bid: Streeter and Son’s bid was $10 per foot for drilling, $12 per foot for casing and well cap donated. John Henry Swett’s  bid was $15 per foot for drilling, $12 per foot for casing and $125 for cap. On a motion by Bill it was voted to award the bid to Streeter.

 

b. Award landscaping bid: Only one bid was received, Earth Works Landscaping for $12,542.62. On a motion by Bill the bid was accepted.

 

c. Discuss Willow Street turn around: A turn around is needed at the end of Willow Street. When  Willow Street was accepted as a Town Way in March, 1974,  a 50 foot radius or a Y turn was part of the vote but never laid out. Tom Gore, as chairman of the Road Advisory Committee had drafted a letter to the present owner of the land. Ted feels it will be better to personally contact the owner rather than send a letter. An appointment will be set up to meet with the owner to discuss this.

5.         OTHER BUSINESS:  Scott Mooney reported that the new well will be located out near the monument.
