TOWN OF ACTON

SALUTE TO THE FLAG

 

1.         APPROVAL OF AGENDA:        

Bill Shields made a motion to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Ed Walsh; all in favor, agenda approved.

 

2.         APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:  

 

Bill Shields made a motion to approve the minutes as presented; seconded by Ed Walsh.  All in favor, motion carried.

 

3.         OLD BUSINESS:

 

            a.         Road Committee Opening

Chairman Kryzak indicated that the Town is still looking for a resident to serve on the Road Committee.

 

            b.         Mousam Lake Resident / MWDC

Chairman Kryzak stated that the Town is still looking for a property owner to serve on this joint committee with Shapleigh and Sanford.

 

4.         NEW BUSINESS:  

 

            a.         Crabby Bear Liquor License/Application

Bill Shields made a motion to approve and sign the liquor license renewal application as presented; seconded by Ed Walsh.  All in favor, motion carried, and license signed.

 

            b.         TROIANO Waste Services

Chairman Kryzak discussed the changes to the TROIANO contract per their request, regarding the hauling fee.  He went on to announce budget wise, there would be no worries with this slight increase.  Selectmen Walsh pointed out that the Board did in fact attempt to negotiate this fee with TRIOIANO and it has been a back and forth process for sometime now.  Bill Shields made a motion approve and sign the contract as presented, seconded by Ed Walsh.  All in favor, motion carried, contract signed for 3 years.

6.         ANNOUCEMENTS:

 

a.                   Concert for the Park

A concert for the park (Mary Grant Nature Preserve) will be held at the Acton Elementary School on September 20 from 5:30pm-8:30pm.  Music will be performed by Shades of Grass, Easy River, and Cedar Mountain.  Free Admission – Donations welcome.  Food will be available. Call 636-3097 for more information.

b.                  Flu Shots

The Home Health Visiting Nurses will hold a flu shot clinic at the Acton Town Hall on September 26 from 9am – 11am.

 

c.                   Roof Work

Hall Brothers Roofing will begin the work on all the municipal buildings at 35 H Road on Tuesday, September 2^.
