TOWN OF ACTON

SALUTE TO THE FLAG

 

1.       1.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA:  Bill Shields made a motion to approve the agenda; seconded by Ed Walsh, all in favor, motion carried.

 

2.       2.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:  Bill Shields made a motion to approve the minutes from June 25, 2015; seconded by Ed Walsh, all in favor, motion carried.

 3.      3.  OLD BUSINESS:  None.     

4.       4.  NEW BUSINESS: 

 

a.  a.    Chairman of the Board of Selectmen

Bill Shields made a motion to elect Ted Kryzak as chair of the Board of Selectmen; seconded by  Ted Kryzak, opposed by Ed Walsh, motion carried 2 -1.

 

b.  b.   Board of Selectmen Meeting Schedule       

Chairman Kryzak announced the Board of Selectmen meeting schedule will now be every Thursday night starting at 6:00 p.m. as of July 16, 2015.  He went on to say that the Board of Selectmen will no longer have workshop hours from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each Thursday, instead, the Department Heads are welcome to come to any Thursday, 6:00 p.m. meeting.

 

c.   Health Officer Appointment

Bill Shields made a motion to appoint Vickie Erickson as Health Officer until June 30, 2017; seconded by Ed Walsh, all in favor, motion carried.

 

d.   Pole Permit    

Bill Shields made a motion to approve Fairpoint’s pole permit for Sam Page Road; seconded by Ed Walsh, all in favor, motion carried.

 

e.   Code Enforcement

Ken Paul addressed the Board, and indicated he was looking for direction regarding the             Deputy position or expanding his current position.  Mr. Paul gave the board copies of old and new job descriptions.  After a brief discussion, it was agreed Mr. Paul will come back next week to continue this discussion.

 

f.    Commercial Hauler Permit

Office Manager Jennifer Roux presented the Board with Travis Penny’s application.  The application cannot be signed-off on until the paperwork is completed.

 

5.       5.  OTHER BUSINESS:  None.

 

6.       6.  ANNOUCEMENTS:  Dick Neal asked that the Town Hall and Mary Grant Preserve be mowed.
