SELECTMEN'S MEETING

April 8, 2008

1.      APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as modified.(Removal of 4.c.)

2.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

3.      WARRANT: Approved and signed.

4.      OLD BUSINESS

a. ASSESSING: Work continues entering data into Trio program.

      b. CABLE CONTRACT: Two minor details need to be corrected in contract. Will sign next week.

5.   NEW BUSINESS:

      (A) MASS GATHERING PERMIT: Applicant was not present.

      (B) ROAD POSTING ORDINANCE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT: On motion by Mike, the following authorization was voted: “In accordance with the Town of Acton Ordinance Restricting Vehicle Weight on Posted Ways, the selectmen appoint the Road Commissioners, Bernard Yeaton and Scott Mooney, as their duly authorized designees for the    administration and enforcement of the above named Ordinance”.

      (C) ACCEPTANCE OF PROPOSAL FOR TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE REPAIR: Paul Carron's proposal was accepted.

      (D)  SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT:A warrant for a Special Town meeting to be   held April 22 at 7 pm at the Town Hall was signed to cover the $180,000 overdraft in Plowing and Sanding and $8,493 to cover Patriot's Day Storm that had been erroneously charged to road repair account.

      (E)  33rd STREET PROPERTY: Selectmen announced the foreclosure of a small parcel of  land on 33rd Street. They may put it out to bid. It is not a buildable lot.

6.     ADJOURNMENT: Adjourned at 6:35 pm
