SELECTMEN'S MEETING

MAY 27, 2008

1.      APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

2.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:  Approved as written.

3.      WARRANT: Approved and signed.

4.      OLD BUSINESS

a. ASSESSING: Rod will be here the 30^th. BAR hearings have been scheduled for June 11 & 18.

b. APPLICATION FOR LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWAL: On a motion by Mike, seconded by Nancy the license for the Potting Shed was signed. Dick voted in the negative. 

 c. TOWN HALL ROOF: Chip reported that the shingles are ok at this time.

 d.  SALE OF LOT ON COVEWOOD: Tabled

 e. FITNESS BUILDING: Tabled

f.  WARRANT ARTICLES: Selectmen will meet with the Warrant and Finance Committee on Wednesday, May 28 at 7:30 pm, to get a recommendation on the changes made in the Government account.

g. CONSTABLE: Tabled

h. AUDITOR: Dick is to call Ron Smith.

5.   NEW BUSINESS:

      (A) OPEN ROAD PAVING BIDS: Bids were opened with the following quotes:

                        R. D. Torno      $58.84 per ton                Handwork    $105 per ton

                        F.R.Carroll       $67.40                                     “           $135

                        Pike                 $80.00

                        Dayton             $63.78

 Selectmen asked Road Commissioners to make a recommendation and they recommended to accept Torno's bid. On a motion by Mike, Torno's bid was accepted.

6.   ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 pm.
