TOWN OF ACTON

SELECTMEN'S MEETING

JUNE 24, 2008

1.      APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved with the addition of 5.(E&F).

2.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

3.      WARRANT: Approved and signed.

4.      OLD BUSINESS

a. ASSESSING: Brent has been picking up personal property.

b. OIL BID: Still in process.

      c. RESOLUTION OF PERSONNEL MATTER DISCUSSED JUNE 17: A  letter has been sent to Dana McGlincey. Treasurer issues still unresolved.

5.   NEW BUSINESS:

  (A) APPOINTMENT OF TAX COLLECTOR/TOWN CLERK: On a motion by Mike, Jennifer Roux was appointed for one year.

      (B) APPOINTMENT OF TREASURER: On a motion by Dick Neal, Vicki Ridlon was re-appointed for 60 days.

      (C) REQUEST TO ENTER MEMO INTO PUBLIC RECORD: Vicki Ridlon was allowed to read her memo into the record. (See attached)

      (D) RATIO DECLARATION: Ratio Declaration and Reimbursement application for Homestead Exemption was signed. The Town has 555 residents receiving the Homestead Exemption.  Because the Town's developed parcel ratio is only 82%, the State will reimburse one half of the value, less the 82%.

      (E) RECOUNT RESULTS: Nancy read a note from Ted Kryzak who had requested the recount, of the School Committee members vote, thanking Jennifer Roux and the Town for making the election process more understandable. The recount did not change the outcome.

      (F) OTHER APPOINTMENTS: Mike asked Lorraine to notify all those due to be re-appointed to notify the Town at once if they do not wish to be reappointed and to come in after July 1 to get sworn in.

6.   ADJOURNMENT: Adjourned at 7:25 pm.
