SELECTMEN'S MEETING

MARCH 12, 2009

1. SALUTE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG

2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

4. SIGNING WARRANT: Approved and signed. Nancy stated for the record that selectmen review the warrant ahead of time before signing at a meeting.

5. OLD BUSINESS: None

6. NEW BUSINESS:

(A) SIGN DEED FOR LUPACHINI ESTATE: The Town was able to locate the Lupachini family members, who came and paid off all the back taxes and liens. On a motion by Tony, selectmen signed a Quit Claim Deed.

(B) NEW XEROX COPIER: Jennifer submitted a request to trade in the copier in the Secretary's office for an upgraded model for the Clerk's office. The one in the clerk's office will be moved to the secretary's office. Jennifer currently prints tax bills and ballots in house and the new model will result in an impressive cost savings.

(C) BIG DADDY LIQUOR LICENSE: Mr. Hannon had requested that a hearing be waived but selectmen did not agree. The date of March 26, 2009 at 7 pm was set for the public hearing. Tony stated he wants a report from the Sheriff Department, the Maine State Police, fire inspection, code inspection and health inspection before the hearing is held.

(D) DOG WARREANT: A warrant to Frank Shippe was signed, to demand payment for licenses for 46 unlicensed dogs and authorization issued to summons dog owners to court.


(E) APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION CLERKS: Tony objected to one of the clerks selected so Jennifer will re-submit next week.
Nancy reported Scott Dunham was willing to serve on the Cable Committee. On a motion by Mike, he was appointed.

Karl Hodgdon stated he has not had an answer to his inquiry relative to payment of the auditor by money order. Selectmen said they will check the records.
