SELECTMEN'S MEETING

 

MARCH 26, 2009

 

 1.    SALUTE TO THE FLAG

 2.    APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

 3.    APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

 4.    SIGNING THE WARRANT: Approved and signed.

 5.    OLD BUSINESS:

 

            (a) Cable TV Committee: Patti Dutil's appointment was signed.

 

 6.    NEW BUSINESS:

 

            (A) Mass Gathering Permit- York County Kennel Club: Jay Kitchener was present to answer questions. It will be held on May 2 & 3 at the Acton Fairgrounds. All requirements have been met. On a motion by Dennis, the permit was signed.

 

            (B) Dennis Long Resignation from Warrant & Finance Committee: Nancy read Long's resignation to the public. On a motion by Tony the resignation was accepted. Selectmen will plan to appoint a replacement at the April 9 meeting. Lorraine will note the need for a replacement in the newspaper column.

 

            (C)  Tom Cashin: Tom explained that the law requires a notice be sent to owners of property in the resource protection zone but because of the difficulty to extract just that information, his committee decided to send the notice to all property owners.

 

            (D) Time Change:  The time for the April 30 meeting was changed to because of a public hearing at .

 

            (E) Used Computer Disposition: The old computers that were taken out of the selectmen's office and the secretary's office have been given to the ambulance association and the library. The old information was cleaned out of them.

 

            (E)  Election Costs reimbursement: The State reimburses for the cost of the election for the school vote. Because the Town also had an article, we will charge  the state 50% of the cost of the election, or $542.38.

 

            Some  complaints were made that there are still some  voting  signs on the roads  that have not been removed. Dennis volunteered to see that these were removed.
