SELECTMEN’S MEETING

MAY 7, 2009

SALUTE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG:

  1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved with the addition of 2.(a) and removal of 5.(1).
  2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.

2. (a) Approval of minutes of April 29: Approved as written.

  1. SIGNING THE WARRANT: Approved and signed.
  2. OLD BUSINESS:

(a)  BIDS FOR TOWN HALL REPAIR DISCUSSION: CEO Ken Paul has nearly completed a guideline for the scope of work that needs to be done, and then the job will be put out to bid again.

5. NEW BUSINESS: 

      (1)  MASS GATHERING PERMIT:  (REMOVED)

      (2) BIDS FOR GENERATOR INSTALLATION: Richard Michaud reported he has received price quotes and believes Selectmen should request $45,000 on the Town Meeting Warrant. Karl noted that he had previously mentioned a North Berwick Company and suggested they should be asked for a quote. Nancy said that if the money is approved by the Town meeting they will go out for official bids. Roger Roy inquired if this price is for all three generators or just one. Nancy said it is for the one at the school, which will require much more power that the Fire Station and Town Hall. John Moore suggested that they should not award the electrician the excavating bid because he will get paid for that. The fact that the enclosure was pre-formed and not constructed on site was discussed.

(3) MEET WITH TOWN COMMITTEES: Next Week.

Barbara noted the need for Selectmen to get construction of the room for the televising equipment done. They want to be able to begin televising as soon as possible. They have volunteers willing to do the construction.
