 SELECTMEN’S MEETING

 MAY 28, 2009

 SALUTE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG

 APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved as written.

1.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Approved as written.
2. SIGNING THE WARRANT: Approved and signed.
3. OLD BUSINESS:

(a) CABLE COMMITTEE UPDATE:  The committee will be meeting Saturday at 10 am. Metrocast was in the office to do some more installations yesterday.

 5. NEW BUSINESS:

 (1). SIGN PROPOSAL REQUEST FOR ASSESSING: Signed and ready to mail.

 (2): COMMITTEE NOTIFICATION RE:CABLE TV:  A notice is to be sent to all committee and department chairmen, letting them know that their meetings may be recorded from time to time when there are items of interest to the Town being discussed.    

 (3)  SELECTMEN’S POSITION ON BUDGET: Dennis said the Selectmen had made reductions in the Town’s budget because of the serious economic situation this country is in. It was a difficult decision but necessary.  $290,000 was cut from the budget.  Karl thanked the Selectmen for what they have done.  Ray asked if there is going to be a Candidate’s night. Nancy said this is organized by the Town’s political parties, not the selectmen. Ray asked what the Selectmen see as needs for the Town in the future. Dennis said the possible need to create a 5 to 10 year plan for what needs to be done. Nancy said the re-activation of a Capital Improvement Plan Group. Tony said the need for more volunteers for committees and boards. 6    ADJOURNMENT:  Adjourned at 7:40 pm. 7.   MEMBERS PRESENT: Nancy Ruma, Tony Cogliandro, Dennis Long  8.
