Conservation and Forestry

Mission Statement

The mission of the Acton Conservation and Forestry Committee is to work within the Town of
Acton Comprehensive Plan in order to help promote goals of conservation and responsible
stewardship of natural resources and open space in our Town.

Committee Goals

These are the goas on the Acton Conservation & Forestry Committee, as voted on during their May 7th, 2024 meeting.

  1. Education of town committees, selectmen, and public to the benefit of
    conservation land with model examples of conservation and forest management.
  2. Work and liaison with other committees in the town such as the Mary Grant
    Committee, Recreation Committee, and Three Rivers Land Trust.
  3. Address trespassing problems from town to private land.
  4. Formally identify areas to conserve such as scenic vistas, sensitive areas, and
    potential jogging/walking paths and identify funding sources.
